Local 117’s member-driven caucuses have big plans for 2016. Two of the five groups met on Saturday, February 20 to organize upcoming events.

Our Pacific Northwest Black Caucus is gearing up for a Casino Night fundraiser event on April 16, where we’ll have dinner, dancing, and a chance to win some great prizes.

Tickets are $50. All Teamsters, family members, and the general public are welcome to attend.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the fight against diabetes and heart disease.

Meanwhile, our Comite Latino caucus is planning our participation in the annual International Workers Day march on May 1 as well as our Local 117 Soccer Tournament in August.

Another caucus event to look for this spring is the founding meeting of our new Veterans Caucus. The event will be held on April 2 here at the Union hall in Tukwila.
