In a big win for taxi and other app-based drivers, Governor Inslee signed Senate Bill 5550 into law yesterday.  

SB 5550 gives drivers the choice of whether or not to participate in the state's L&I program.  The new law also protects the right of drivers to be heard by their city and county governments.  

The passage of 5550 was made possible through the collective action of dozens of drivers who participated in lobbying actions and who emailed and called their representatives.  

This is great news for all drivers!
