Every day, our members who work in the public sector serve our communities and too often the work goes unnoticed by the rest of the public, let alone by our elected officials.
That's why this President's Day, Monday February 15th, we are going to be meeting with our legislators in Olympia for what we are calling Public Service Matters Lobby Day. Olympia legislators hear from state employees routinely, but there are thousands of other public sector members who work in cities, counties and towns all across the state from whom they don't always hear.
This year, we will be talking to our representatives and senators about our 2016 Legislative Agenda, particularly legislation to protect the privacy of all public employees.
Can you join us that day? We will be meeting at the Washington State Labor Council building in Olympia at 9:00 AM where we will do a short training, and then head up to the Capitol campus to meet in groups with legislators. This is always a lot of fun, and our members have a fun experience. It's also a fun thing to do with your kids, who are totally welcome to join!
If you and your family are able to join us that day, please click here to RSVP on our calendar. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me by replying to this email or calling me at 206-441-4860 x1262.
Thanks for what you do to serve the public, and we look forward to seeing you on February 15th!
