Great news, soccer fans! A coalition of labor unions, led by MLK Labor, has negotiated a fair Labor Standards Agreement for events that will be held in Seattle during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The deal was signed by 17 affiliates of the Labor Council, including Teamsters Local 117.

Now, you can celebrate the beautiful game knowing that workers in the Emerald City will be paid fairly and guaranteed similar conditions to those of unionized employees in comparable positions at venues like Lumen Field, Climate Pledge Arena, and the Seattle Center.

"With the World Cup coming to Seattle, all eyes will be on us," said Paul Dascher, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters 117. "We are thrilled that the thousands of workers who support the event in our city will not be taken for granted. Soccer fans from around the world will know we are a union town that treats workers with respect."
