Meet our member-driven Political Advisory Committee that interviews and recommends candidates for endorsement.

Elections season is here – and it's been an exciting year so far. In addition to the Governor’s race, every member in the State House of Representatives is up for election and one third of the State Senate.

By now, you should have received your ballot in the mail and may be wondering which candidates are most supportive of workers.  

We can help! At Local 117, we have been interviewing candidates, participating in endorsements at the State and Local Labor Councils, and volunteering to get pro-labor candidates elected.

Throughout the summer, a group of 117 members and staff from across the state in all kinds of industries have been meeting with candidates to ask them about issues that impact working families.

We've interviewed congressional candidates, statewide candidates, legislative candidates, and even a couple of county candidates. You can view a list of endorsed candidates from our member-led Political Advisory Committee.

OUR ENDORSEMENTS - 2024 PRIMARY

Elections really matter to Teamsters – here are some of the issues we asked candidates to support:

• Guaranteeing coverage for PTSD treatment in DOC;
• Requiring a safety-operator in autonomous vehicles;
• Increasing fines for employers that violate safety laws;
• And much more!
