AIRWAY HEIGHTS CORRECTIONS CENTER
Starting in November, we will be holding Holiday Membership Meetings at every facility across the State. We will be discussing upcoming contract negotiations and preparing for the 2016 legislative session. Meetings at AHCC will take place on November 18 at the Spokane Hilton Garden (Spokane Airport) at 0640, 1215, 1420, and 1540.
On October 2, we provided a presentation for new members at a CORE training in Walla Walla.
On October 13, Business Representative Humbert attended the Spokane Labor Rally along with 15 members from AHCC. Thanks to everyone who turned out to make the event a success.
On October 21, members and Local 117 staff met with Washington State Representatives Ricceli and Ormsby and Senator Billig in Spokane to discuss DOC-related issues.
On October 22, we held a vote for new Shop Stewards at the facility. The new stewards will not assume their positions until January 1, 2016. We will post the results of the vote prior to that.
COYOTE RIDGE CORRECTIONS CENTER
Starting in November, we will be holding Holiday Membership Meetings at every facility across the State. We will be discussing upcoming contract negotiations and preparing for the 2016 legislative session. Meetings at CRCC will take place on November 16 in the MSC Multi-Purpose Room at 0620, 1130, 1300, 1410, and 1830.
October 1, Business Representative Eydie Dean accompanied a CRCC member to Olympia for a reversion hearing.
On October 2, we provided a presentation for new members at a CORE training in Walla Walla.
On October 6, Business Representative Dean attended the Southeastern Central WA Central Labor Council meeting.
On October 8, we held a LMCC communications meeting for members working in health services.
On October 19, members and Local 117 staff met with Washington State Representatives Nealy and Klippert to talk about DOC-related issues.
WASHINGTON STATE PENITENTIARY
Starting in November, we will be holding Holiday Membership Meetings at every facility across the State. We will be discussing upcoming contract negotiations and preparing for the 2016 legislative session. Meetings at WSP will take place on December 3 in the Courtyard Marriot (550 W Rose) at 0640, 0830, 1215, 1420, and 1615.

On October 6, we attended a Step 1 grievance meeting at the facility.
On October 19, members and Local 117 staff met with Washington State Representatives Nealy and Klippert to talk about DOC-related issues.
On October 20, Business Representative Tawny Humbert attended the Women’s Economic Forum in Walla Walla
On October 26, we reached an agreement with the Department over evidence-based programming for classification counselors. We will provide a more thorough update on the website soon.
On October 31, we represented a members at a Pre-Arbitration review meeting at the facility.
