AIRWAY HEIGHTS CORRECTIONS CENTER
  • On December 5, we held our holiday membership meetings at AHCC.  At the meetings, we discussed our interest arbitration award and the upcoming legislative session.  We also screened our interest arbitration video
  • On January 27, we will be holding our DOC Teamsters Lobby Day in Olympia.  For more information and to register for the event, click here.
  • Business Representative Tawny Humbert was at the facility the week of January 12 to address issues at the facility and to turn out members for Lobby Day.
  • There are several step 1 grievance meetings scheduled for the month of January at AHCC, including 3 planned for January 29.
COYOTE RIDGE CORRECTIONS CENTER
  • On December 1, we held our holiday membership meetings at CRCC.  At the meetings, we discussed our interest arbitration award and the upcoming legislative session.  We also screened our interest arbitration video

  • In December, there was a termination arbitration hearing for a member at CRCC.  We are awaiting the arbitrator’s response.
  • A member at CRCC won the large screen TV in our annual holiday membership meeting raffle drawing!
  • On January 6, Business Representative Eydie Dean met with Scott Frakes in Olympia to discuss the statewide grievance regarding meals periods during overtime assignments.
 WASHINGTON STATE PENITENTIARY
  • On December 3, we held our holiday membership meetings at WSP.  At the meetings, we discussed our interest arbitration award and the upcoming legislative session.  We also screened our interest arbitration video.  The meetings were well attended.

  • On January 22, there will be a meeting for WSP nurses to discuss issues at the facility.  Director of Corrections and Law Enforcement Michelle Woodrow will be in attendance as well.   For more information, contact  Business Representative Humbert.
  • We have had a lot of discussions regarding use of force issues at the facility. We will keep you posted about the outcome of those discussions.
  • We have been in ongoing negotiations with the Department over transition to closed-loop food service.
  • There are several step 1 grievance meetings scheduled for the month of January at WSP.
