Teamsters at DOC have voted overwhelmingly to approve a new agreement over your health care benefits for the 2023-2025 biennium. Of members casting a ballot, 88% voted to approve the proposal while 12% voted to oppose it.

The agreement maintains the status quo on your premium share from the previous biennium. Under the proposal, your employer will continue to contribute 85% of the monthly premium for the self-insured Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) Classic for members, while members will contribute 15%.

The agreement increases flexible spending account (FSA) eligibility of $250 paid for by the employer to members with a full-time equivalent base salary of $60,000 or less.

You can view a PDF of the agreement here.

Our team of union representatives has been getting a lot of questions about our recent interest arbitration award issued on Monday by Arbitrator James Dworkin.

You can access an updated document that outlines the general wage increases and targeted range increases in the award here.

To discuss the award and answer your questions, we will be setting up Interest Arbitration Award Zoom meetings in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for dates and times for those meetings.

In the meantime, I have put together a short video update with some of my thoughts about the award. You can view the video by clicking the link below:
