Your Union filed a grievance today over the DOC's decision to eliminate recruitment and retention pay for members working at certain facilities, in certain job classifications.
The grievance asserts that the removal of assignment pay was arbitrary and capricious and "therefore a direct violation of the negotiated agreement and interest arbitration decision..."
Right on, Gary Beane and Richard Allis. Another year goes by and no pay raise for us MCCers. In fact, most coworkers have mentioned that, due to increases in PERS contributions, our net take home pay actually DECREASED (again). Meanwhile, the voters in Monroe voted themselves more of my money to educate their little crumb crunchers, to the tune of a $50/mo increase in my property tax. So remind me again why I pay you guys over $400/year?
Aw…Star Bellied Sneetches!
No; one locations employee bank is no better than any other across this state. Maybe it never was intended to be a forever incentive. But it became a living wage we grew to be accustomed too.
For what I had to pay for my house…yadda…I could have bought two in Eastern WA.
So maybe the big picture is being clouded over because we portrayed our financial burdens to the likes of Dr. Seuss’s Sneetches! Just because we got Stars on ours…didn’t mean our UNION wasn’t going to come along with a machine to put stars on thars!!!
We ARE being constantly DUPED by the leaders of this state and our illustrious UNION. Any hint of moving forward and staying above board and they find some new excuse to take away from everything we gained.
So a 4% in 2016 huh? Wonder how the state is going to find a way to git that too…After all…They got da TEAMSTERS to back them up!
During arbitration part of the agreement was since the state would be matched at same higher wage the retention pay could be removed based on each individual need if the proper process was followed. The state did not follow the procedure implemented by the arbitration for removal and therefor the union is wanting it re imposed on the basis the state did not meet criteria for removal.
All the people complaining about the loss of retention pay and only the small increase yr 1 how bout this for the last 4 yrs you got 5% more than most CO’S in the state and it could have been taken away and you would have to re budget yourself at 5% loss the rest of state was brought up to keep the same rate we were and then next yr another 4%. It’s only fair to all staff and let’s face it there are plenty of staff who don’t deserve the wages we get
Whst a bunch of smoke and mirrors! You all know that thanks to Teamsters 177 the R&R pay is history. Acting like you are trying to save it ( just for PR purposes) is downright dishonest. Thanks to you, our pittance that we reveived for higher cost of living areas (which we fought for tooth and nail) is gone, and we essentially get no raise at all in year one. I wish we had never gone closed shop.
