We have some exciting news to share from the legislative session in Olympia that recently wrapped up. The legislature has voted to fully fund the collective bargaining agreement for our Department of Corrections members.
This means that the wage increase, bonus, and step increases that we achieved through interest arbitration are now secure.
Effective July 1, 2022, all Teamster correctional employees will receive a general wage increase of 4% and a one-time bonus of $1500. In addition, range increases for dozens of classifications will take effect July 1, 2022. You can find a link to the budget here.
Teamsters 117 Secretary-Treasurer, John Scearcy, will officially sign our contract in the coming weeks. At that point, the fully-executed agreement will be available on our Teamsters 117 website here.
