Our 2023-2025 DOC collective bargaining agreement takes effect tomorrow, July 1, 2023. This means all of the economic improvements in our Union's contract, including your general wage increase for 2023, will be reflected in the next pay period.
Per our interest arbitration award, all DOC Teamsters will receive a 6% wage increase effective July 1, 2023 and a 4% increase effective July 1, 2024 as well as a one-time bonus of $1500. Range increases for more than 40 classifications will also go into effect July 1, 2023.

As we celebrate this important victory, it's important to understand that these improvements did not come easily. They took sacrifice and commitment by our outstanding rank-and-file union bargaining team. They required a determined collective effort by all of you, working in concert with our Union staff.
A strong Union is one where members actively participate, attend meetings and lobby days, speak with their legislators, enforce our contract and offer feedback and support to each other. This is what results in a strong contact, which is what we are seeing today.
I encourage you to talk with your co-workers, especially those who are not members of Teamsters 117. Ask them to join you in membership and our commitment to each other. They can talk with their Union Reps if they have questions or sign up for the union here.
Our unity at DOC is our strength. Without it, contracts like the one we are seeing today will not be achievable.
