Starting today, we will be voting on the State's contract proposal. Unfortunately, the State rejected important demands of the membership in negotiations over your 2023-2025 collective bargaining agreement and was unwilling to put forth a proposal that respects your work.

VOTE NOW! VOTE NO!

For this reason, your Union Negotiation Committee unanimously recommends you VOTE "NO" on the State's offer. Voting "NO" will send our contract to interest arbitration, where a third-party neutral arbitrator will issue an award over unresolved language issues and your compensation.

Voting will take place using ElectionBuddy. You will receive an email and/or text message on Tuesday, August 9, with a personalized voting link and voting instructions. Please do not forward or share the voting link with anyone else as it is unique to you.

Voting will begin on Tuesday, August 9 at 8 a.m. and end on Monday, August 22 at 11:59 p.m. You will receive an email from me announcing the results of the vote. If the proposal is rejected, we will move your contract to interest arbitration. The interest arbitration hearing is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday, August 29.

You must be a member of Teamsters 117 to vote on your contract. Please encourage your co-workers who are not members to join the union and stand with you for a strong contract. If you are not a member, you can complete your membership application here.

MAKE AN INFORMED VOTE!

To make an informed vote, please do the following:

  1. Review a Summary of the State's final offer here.
  2. Attend one of the Contract Vote Meetings at your facility.

Remember, your Union Negotiation Committee recommends that you vote "NO".
