Your Local Union is getting behind a new initiate to win a $15 minimum wage for workers in the city of Tacoma.

Local 117 Legislative Affairs Coordinator Brenda Wiest was named to a 15-person Task Force assigned with putting forth a proposal to raise the minimum wage in Tacoma.

Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland assembled the group as more and more Tacoma residents are demanding an end to poverty wages.

On June 30, join your fellow Teamsters and other labor supporters at Tacoma’s Theater on the Square for a community rally in support of raising the minimum wage.

Following the rally, we will be marching to the City Council chambers, where the Council will review the Task Force's recommendations.

Let's tell the Tacoma City Council that Tacoma's workers deserve a raise!
