Legislators who work in Olympia will decide next year the fate of our DOC contract, as well as whether we win statutory arbitration rights.  Both of these wins will require careful planning and a lot of effort from our membership.

This Spring Political Action Committee (PAC) meeting will be our opportunity to meet as a group together and plan out our political program in the year ahead.

Here’s our Agenda for these meetings:

• debrief the legislative session that just finished
• look over and review our candidate questionnaire
• schedule dates to interview candidates running for the legislature in 2014
• decide our next meeting
• plan for the fall mobilization

In November 2014, all 98 members of the state House of Representatives and half of the 49 members of the state Senate are up for election.  Our ability to win in Olympia on the issues we care about like winning interest arbitration or funding for our DOC contract hinges on who wins in November.  We need our members to be involved in the political process.
