On January 29, 2011, our Union lost Officer Jayme Biendl, a corrections officer who was killed in the line of duty while working at the Monroe Correctional Complex. Jayme's death had a profound impact on our Union family at MCC, DOC members across Washington State, and across the country.

As we approach the 13 anniversary of Jayme's death, it's important that we keep her memory alive and continue to honor with love the service and the sacrifice of our Union sister.

Sadly, last year we also mourned the loss of Sergeant Michael Boe, a former Shop Steward at MCC. Boe was the shift sergeant on duty the night Jayme was killed. You can view a short video of Sgt. Boe from a few years' back remembering Officer Biendl.
