I want to update you on the status of our effort to protect your personal information from falling into the hands of a anti-union group called the Freedom Foundation. 

As you recall, the Freedom Foundation made a Public Records Act request to obtain your full name, date of birth, and email address from the state. 

Our Union's legal counsel immediately responded to their request by filing a lawsuit to prevent your information from reaching the public realm. We were successful in temporarily preventing the release of your information.

On May 27, a Superior Court judge in Thurston County issued a preliminary injunction stopping the state from releasing your information to the Freedom Foundation. The temporary injunction will remain in place until July 29. 

At that time, our legal team will be back in court in an effort to permanently protect your personal information from being released. We will send you an update after the court hearing on July 29.
