Initiative 1634, which will be on the November general election ballot, would prohibit municipalities from taxing groceries you'd buy in the store (like soda or sugar-sweetened beverages). Although there is no state sales tax on groceries, there is a loophole that makes it permissible for municipalities to do their own tax; this initiative fixes that loophole.

Teamsters 117 represents more than 3,000 hard-working men and women in the grocery and food-service industries, and we want to make sure we stop taxes that will erode these good-paying jobs with Teamster benefits.
