We’ve started this summer with a bang. On one weekend in June, members voted overwhelmingly to ratify two contracts – at United Natural Foods, Inc. and Republic Services - with historic improvements.

The last week in April is recognized as Administrative Professionals Week.

In January, I had the incredible honor of being sworn in as Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 117 to continue to serve the membership of our great Union for the next three years.

On February 14, more than 230 members of Teamsters 117 and their families converged on the State Capitol in Olympia for our DOC Lobby Day.

This is a time to gather with loved ones, look back on the year, and give thanks for all we have. But as we celebrate the holidays, let’s take a moment to recognize the brave public safety professionals who won’t have that luxury.

I want to draw your attention to a concern that is common in both the public and private sector work environments. It’s a practice called “skimming.”
