MONROE CORRECTIONAL COMPLEX
  • We have identified several local businesses in the Monroe area that are supportive of our campaign to win a fair contract.   Businesses have signed on to a letter of support that will be sent to legislators.
  • DOC Shop Stewards from across the state met on March 13 for our annual Shop Steward Seminar.  The DOC seminar was followed by an event for all Local 117 Shop Stewards on March 14 at the Washington State Convention Center.
  • We held our quarterly Membership Meeting for Teamsters at MCC on March 23.  At the meeting we discussed getting our contract funded and an update from legislative session in Olympia.
  • We have recently filed two Demands to Bargain; the first involves the TV rental program at MSU; the second involves the reallocation of positions in CI laundry.
  • We have recently filed grievances over the following issues: the Department’s failure to award a bid, an improper letter of reprimand, and a probationary separation.
WASHINGTON CORRECTIONS CENTER
  • We held a Contract Funding Strategy Session on March 3 at WCC in the computer lab.  We are holding similar meetings across the state to develop strategies for getting our contract funded.
  • DOC Shop Stewards from across the state met on March 13 for our annual Shop Steward Seminar.  The DOC seminar was followed by an event for all Local 117 Shop Stewards on March 14 at the Washington State Convention Center.
  • We held our quarterly Membership Meeting for Teamsters at WCC on March 17.  At the meeting we discussed getting our contract funded and an update from legislative session in Olympia.
MISSION CREEK CORRECTIONS CENTER FOR WOMEN

 

  • We held a Contract Funding Strategy Session for members at MCCCW on March 10.  We will be holding similar meetings across the state to develop strategies for getting our contract funded.

LARCH CORRECTIONS CENTER
  • DOC Shop Stewards from across the state met on March 13 for our annual Shop Steward Seminar.  The DOC seminar was followed by an event for all Local 117 Shop Stewards on March 14 at the Washington State Convention Center.
  • On Friday, February 27, Political Coordinator Dustin Lambro and Director of Corrections Michelle Woodrow were at LCC for a site visit and for our Contract Funding Strategy Session.  At the meeting, we identified several local businesses in the area to target in our campaign to get our contract funded. 
  • We are working to address issues involving the respirator fitness test.
  • We held our quarterly Membership Meeting for Teamsters at LCC on March 26.  At the meeting we discussed getting our contract funded and an update from legislative session in Olympia.
STAFFORD CREEK CORRECTIONS CENTER
  • We held our Contract Funding Strategy Session for members at SCCC on March 24.  We are holding similar meetings across the state to discuss and develop strategies for getting our contract funded.
  • We are working to resolve a grievance at SCCC over the Department’s failure to properly award a bid.
  • DOC Shop Stewards from across the state met on March 13 for our annual Shop Steward Seminar.  The DOC seminar was followed by an event for all Local 117 Shop Stewards on March 14 at the Washington State Convention Center.
  • We will be holding an election for new Shop Stewards in CI this month. 
  • New Business Representative Talisa Boad has been visiting the facility regularly to meet with members and discuss issues at the facility.
  • We will be holding our quarterly Membership Meeting for Teamsters at SCCC on March 31.  At the meeting will discuss getting our contract funded and give an update from legislative session in Olympia.
  • We held an LMCC on March 10 to discuss the concerns of medical staff.
CLALLAM BAY CORRECTIONS CENTER
  • We held our Contract Funding Strategy Session for members at CBCC on March 18. We are holding similar meetings across the state to discuss and develop strategies for getting our contract funded.
  • DOC Shop Stewards from across the state met on March 13 for our annual Shop Steward Seminar.  The DOC seminar was followed by an event for all Local 117 Shop Stewards on March 14 at the Washington State Convention Center.
  • In February, we filed a grievance over the Department improperly removing a member from their bid post; we recently held the Step 1 grievance meeting and are waiting from a response from the state.
  • In mid-February, we held an LMCC to discuss concerns of custody staff.  At the meeting, we talked about overtime slips and improving technology related to the issue at the facility.
  • On February 4-6, state auditors were at the facility.  Members reported to the state what’s happening at the institution and custody and non-custody staff shared their concerns.
  • We held our quarterly Membership Meeting for Teamsters at CBCC on March 3.  At the meeting we discussed getting our contract funded and give an update from legislative session in Olympia.
WASHINGTON CORRECTIONS CENTER FOR WOMEN
  • Effective February 20, Sarena Davis is the new Business Representative for Teamsters at WCCW.
  • We held our Contract Funding Strategy Session for members at WCCW on March 10. We are holding similar meetings across the state to discuss and develop strategies for getting our contract funded.

OLYMPIC CORRECTIONS CENTER
  • We held our Contract Funding Strategy Session for members at OCC on March 17. We are holding similar meetings across the state to discuss and develop strategies for getting our contract funded.

CEDAR CREEK CORRECTIONS CENTER

  • On March 15, we held an LMCC to discuss issues at the facility.
  • We held our Contract Funding Strategy Session for members at CCCC on March 3. We are holding similar meetings across the state to discuss and develop strategies for getting our contract funded.
