Last night, KOMO TV aired an investigative report that exposes dangerously low staffing levels at the University of Washington Police Department (UWPD).

Low staffing levels at the UWPD have required officers to work long hours, sometimes to the brink of exhaustion.

The report asks whether the Department management is putting the 70,000 residents of the UW community at risk. Officers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation, said the answer is an unequivocal yes.

"How exhausted do you want your police officers to be when they are responding to your emergency," said Michelle Woodrow, Local 117 President and your Director of Corrections & Law Enforcement.
